ENERGY INDUSTRY Feasibility Testing
Future-Proof Grids
Test Optical Fiber: Is the desired optical fiber suitable for RTTR cable monitoring? Both now and in the future! We assist you in selecting the right optical fiber by evaluating the specifications from suppliers and testing the fiber after delivery, production, and installation for suitability. This ensures that cable manufacturers can be confident that their optical fiber, housed in a stainless steel tube, meets the requirements for RTTR cable monitoring. Energy providers can also ensure today that, with future increases in power loads, a monitoring system can be easily implemented – helping to meet NOVA requirements.
Our Feasibility Testing in Detail
- Selection of suitable optical fibers
- Testing and evaluation of fiber optic transmission properties based on cable lengths for usability, for example, in cases where customer specifications are exceeded.
- Testing and assessment of partial or entire cable routes for threshold exceedances of spectral attenuation, ensuring suitability for future RTTR cable monitoring operations.
- Preliminary evaluation of the fiber optic measurement route, based on specifications such as spectral attenuation and dispersion of the fiber integrated within the stainless steel tube. This can be done using existing OTDR data or through conducted OTDR and DTS measurements.
- Final optical fiber testing and evaluation of the completed fiber optic route, including splices and fiber optic connectors.
Cable Monitoring Suitability
Ensure your cable grids are suitable for RTTR cable monitoring and future-proof your system.
